Our mission is to strengthen a sense of community by providing Clark County families with comprehensive and locally based resources and information regarding parenting, education, news, community events and personalities, recreation, and more.
About Us
Vancouver Family Magazine is a local monthly family magazine, published by Julie Buchan and Nikki Klock. It was founded in 2001 by Summer Morris, a mother who recognized the lack of information specifically for Vancouver area families. Eight years and plenty of hard work later, we’re boasting a circulation of 10,000 magazines per month which are available for free at various businesses throughout Vancouver, Battle Ground, Camas, Ridgefield, La Center, Washougal, Woodland, and select Portland locations.
Julie Buchan came on board as co-owner and Publisher in April of 2005. Bringing her knowledge and expertise in layout and design, she is committed to making Vancouver Family Magazine look its best. She grew up in the Arizona desert and has spent the last 13 years in the Northwest and loves it! She has a son and a daughter.
Nikki Klock became co-owner and Editor in September 2006. The oldest of seven children, she grew up mainly in the northwest, graduated from Utah Valley University, and has lived in Vancouver with her husband, JR, and two daughters since 2003.
